On June 17, Utilities Director Scott Snethen and Finance Director Melanie Landis presented proposed 2027 budgets for the city's water, wastewater, stormwater and electric funds, which are paid for mainly by customer fees.

Planned items include $90,000 to replace the Cedar Street water main from 1st to 4th Street and $600,000 for lining sewer manholes and pipes. Landis said the city is turning to collection agencies for past-due bills.

On June 24, City Manager Thatcher Moddie proposed how to divide the half-cent quality of life sales tax voters approved in November 2025. For 2027 through 2029, 70% would go to pavement and 20% to public safety, with 5% each for the pool and parks and for other projects and reserves. The tax should bring in about $2.1 million a year, and Moddie said the split isn't final.
