Lightfield Energy's agreement to buy Proximity Park for a proposed data center is still in place. Its inspection period ended August 1, and after a closed session on August 7, the City Commission said its attorney and staff would review the city's options.

On August 12, City Attorney Blaine Finch said the agreement's second amendment dropped the approval-notice requirement and made August 1 the start of the entitlement period. The sale is to close by October 30. Any incentives or development agreement would need commission approval, and the contract does not commit the city to grant incentives.

Several commissioners questioned whether a development agreement, which usually takes three to six months, could be done by then. No action was taken.
