Residents opposed to the data center proposed for Proximity Park plan to rally on the Franklin County Courthouse lawn Saturday, June 27, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The Facebook group "Franklin County KS DataCenter Discussion" is organizing it and spent the week handing out signs. Organizers have asked everyone who comes to be polite.

Opponents of the Lightfield Energy project have spoken at every regular City Commission meeting in June. On June 3, the crowd spilled into the hallway and a dozen people spoke against it. One said more than 700 Ottawa residents have put their names on a petition.

Speakers have also asked for a public forum where Lightfield representatives would answer questions. As of June 17, the commission had not said whether one would happen.
