Ottawa's update of its comprehensive plan, the long-range guide the city uses for zoning and infrastructure decisions, is in its final stretch. It is the first update since 2004.

The City Commission has worked with every city department on the new plan. City Manager Thatcher Moddie told KOFO the plan now needs to be finalized, and the city will take public comments at an open house.

The open house is Wednesday, November 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Ottawa University's Zook Conference Room. Residents can see the city's ideas for the future and offer their own. A survey on the draft plan stays open through November 13.

For details, see KOFO's reports on the open house and the start of the update, and the October 14 commission minutes.
